Ivana was born on 18th June 1982 in Poprad, city in the north of Slovakia, just under the peaks of the highest mountains the High Tatras. She has amazing parents and younger brother Tom, who are supporting her the best way they can all her life. THANK YOU!
Parents
She has spent first eighteen years of her life in her hometown – Poprad. Since age of nine was her life dedicated to marvelous game basketball. Her Dad was the main pillar of support during her basketball career, since he has come to see Ivana play on her first tournament (The final score o the game was 4:2 and Ivana has scored 4 points). Ever since, he was accompanying her and the team on every game. Poprad was and is characteristic for long winters, her Dad made during winter 1992 for talented Ivana, basketball board with ring and super cool chain net (as seen on TV) with his own hands. Her summer holidays were day and night of joy in front of the house. (See the picture below).

While playing games mainly against boys and against any passing by visitors of the town, she was rapidly growing, not only in basketball tricks and technique, but as “byproduct” of the street ball games with strangers were lessons learned on communication and dealing with much older people.
